About Us

Overview

DBE is a 40 year- old technology-based company and has been involved in the development, evaluation, and/or commercialization of over 50 clean water and energy technologies. In the last 7 years DBE has been focussed on the water energy nexus. DBE has now developed a water treatment technology that has been identified as highly disruptive to the conventional water treatment market. The technology provides as much as a 50% reduction in capital and operating costs, a 90% reduction in energy consumption, and a 75% reduction in process equipment area requirements.

Clients that are using or testing the technology include China (Sinopec, CNOOC, Petro China), Malaysia (Techkem Group-Kuala Lumpur), Thailand (PTT, Thai Eastern Biogas, Prompt Power), India (Tata Projects, Ion Techniques), US (Eureka Waste management services Pennsylvania, Chevron Texas, Remote Waste water Texas, Ecolyse Inc Texas) Canada (Ontario- Dillon Engineering -Nawash Indigenous Community, Envirogem, Electroless Nickel Tech), (BC -MGX Minerals), (Alberta -Connacher Oil and Gas, Pengrowth Oil and gas, Osum Oil and gas, Canadian Natural Resources Ltd).

DBE has now established research centers in College Station, Texas, the home of Texas A and M, Beijing, China and Edmonton, Alberta.

The Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection rates DBE’s water treatment technology as one of the top 100 environmental technologies in the world. In 2017 the technology was a finalist in the US based Katerva awards as the most disruptive sustainable technology in the world.

In 2019, DBE was recognized as one of the top 51 water leaders in the world.

David Bromley M.Eng., P.E.

Mr. David Bromley M.Eng., P. E. is an internationally recognized expert in industrial and pure water treatment technology as well as the impact of water on energy consumption and conversely the impact of energy on water consumption.

He is a Professional Engineer who has operated his own Engineering practice for 41 years working throughout North America, China, India, Malaysia, Thailand and the Caribbean. Mr. Bromley has an engineering degree from the University of Toronto and has a Masters of Engineering Degree in water treatment from McMaster University which was one of the world’s leading universities in the area of water treatment.

He has been involved in the development and assessment of over 50 technologies related to water treatment. As the Chief Executive and Chief Technology Officer in three companies, located in the US and Canada, he has an interesting experience in the manufacturing and application of water treatment technology to both municipal and industrial clients, Mr. Bromley became recognized throughout North America for his expertise in the use of energy in water and wastewater treatment, distribution, collection and storage infrastructure.

With respect to this specific expertise, he was selected by the United States Environmental Protection Agency to co-author a book on water treatment and infrastructure. The book was published in 2014 by one of the world’s leading scientific publishers Elsevier Publishing of London UK. Mr. Bromley is also co-author of a second book on the food- water- energy nexus which was published by Elsevier Publishing in 2015. His contribution focussed on the Natural Gas Energy industry and the impact of natural gas regarding improved global water inventories. Mr. Bromley was also a guest lecturer at Texas A and M University located near Houston Texas. He has now established research centers in College Station Texas, the home of Texas A and M, Beijing China and Edmonton, Alberta.

Mr. Bromley is the inventor and is leading the development of the world’s most efficient and lowest cost membrane technology. The application of the technology has been successful with some of the world’s largest oil and gas corporations. The RSL Membrane™ technology is now recognized by the China Ministry of Environmental Protection as one of the top 100 environmental technologies in the world. Recently, in 2017, the technology was nominated and was a finalist in the California based Katerva Awards for the most disruptive sustainable technology in the world. The technology provides a tenfold capacity improvement in conventional water treatment processes as well as 90% reduction in energy consumption. In 2018, the Nanoflotation Technology was selected by the Isle Utilities group in the UK as one of the best new water treatment technologies in the world. In 2019 David Bromley was awarded “Most Impactful Global leaders in water and water management”.
